On 6 February 2025, PEARL-DNA consortium member Jan Voges (Leibniz University Hannover, UNAV Pamplona) delivered a lecture on error correction for robust DNA storage systems as part of the CIC nanoGUNE Seminars. This seminar was held in person at the CIC nanoGUNE campus in Donostia-San Sebastian and was hosted by Alexander Bittner from TextaDNA, another DigNA project.
Jan’s talk explored error correction strategies for building robust DNA storage systems, covering both base-by-base and block-by-block synthesis approaches. He also presented the PEARL-DNA project, highlighting its key features such as a high-throughput liquid handling system, specialized data coding methods, and a long-term storage system for DNA preservation at room temperature.
This event not only provided an opportunity to disseminate PEARL-DNA research but also fostered connections among members of portfolio projects through shared activities.
