PEARL-DNA consortium meets for the 3nd General Assembly

On 24-25 October 2024, the PEARL-DNA consortium members met in person for their third General Assembly meeting in Wildau, Germany. The meeting was kindly organised and hosted by PEARL-DNA partners from the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau (THWi).

Sixteen participants, representing each project partner, gathered to present their research progress and address outstanding questions. The meeting began with a welcome address by Prof. Dr Klaus-Martin Melzer, Vice President for Research and Transfer at THWi, who introduced the university’s current development goals and welcomed international researchers to its premises. Following this, the consortium toured the campus before proceeding to the formal agenda.

Over the two days, PEARL-DNA partners provided updates on their research and discussed next steps. Scientific work was presented by BioSistemika, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover, Imagene, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau, and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland iPrint. The team from accelopment also provided updates on communication, dissemination, and coordination support.

In addition to the formal presentations for each work package, this assembly featured an interactive exercise on portfolio activities. The team reviewed other projects within the DigNA portfolio and discussed potential future collaborations.

On the second day of the General Assembly, THWi organised a lab tour for the consortium.

All project members, including the coordinator, were pleased with the productive outcomes of the meeting and the progress made during the first year of PEARL-DNA. The project is on track, and partners are committed to delivering the promised technology.
