DigNA presented at the DNA Data Storage Alliance meeting

On October 8, 2024, DigNA — a portfolio of projects funded under the 2022 EIC Pathfinder challenge: DNA-based digital data storage — was presented at the DNA Data Storage Alliance meeting.

Dr Isabel Obieta, an EIC Programme Manager for Sustainable Semiconductors and lead of the DigNA portfolio, was invited to introduce DigNA at the DNA Data Storage Alliance meeting. The DNA Data Storage Alliance is a global ecosystem of companies, laboratories, and public and private organisations dedicated to establishing standards and specifications for using DNA in digital data storage.

In her presentation, Dr Obieta outlined DigNA’s objectives and strategic approach, highlighting its collaborative work structure and dedicated working groups. She emphasised the portfolio’s focus on metrics and standards — a core area of interest for the DNA Data Storage Alliance.

The presentation was organised with the support of Marthe Colotte, Director of Technology at Imagene, board member of the DNA Data Storage Alliance, and PEARL-DNA partner. Marthe is also active in DigNA’s working group on metrics and standards, aligning closely with the Alliance’s scope and objectives.

The teams involved in DigNA and the DNA Data Storage Alliance will continue exploring opportunities for joint collaborations to advance DNA as a robust and sustainable solution for digital data storage.
